Deputy Foreign Minister (CDTO) Dmytro Senik: important goal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is to build as many so-called Ukrainian investment bridges to the world economy as possible
On December 11, 2021 Deputy Foreign Minister (CDTO) Dmytro Senik participated in international conference «Ukraine: An Investment Harbor in the Times of Change», dedicated to the progress of reforms and improving the business environment in Ukraine.
The event was organized by the UkraineInvest Government Office for Investment Attraction and Support with the participation of the USAID Competitive Economy Program (CEP) in Ukraine. The conference took place in Kyiv and brought together representatives of the business community from more than 60 countries.
The conference key topics: strengthening investor protection, stimulating business investment in SMEs, prospects for relocation of production facilities in Ukraine, strengthening communication between regions and the world, investment success stories in Ukraine.
Dmytro Senik welcomed UkraineInvest's initiative to hold the first annual international conference and spoke about the role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in attracting foreign investment into the Ukrainian economy.
«The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is a bridge between Ukraine and all countries in the world. Our task is to build as many bridges as possible that will connect Ukraine up to the world. Establishing of so-called investment bridges is one of the key performance indicators (KPI) set by the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba for Ukrainian embassies abroad», - Dmytro Senik noted in his speech on a panel discussion on establishment of interaction between the regions of Ukraine and the world.
Deputy Minister reminded that in November 2020 the Ministry of Foreign Affairs together with UkraineInvest launched a new project having united efforts to attract foreign investment from the Gulf countries. The Ministry has also recently started cooperation with Ukrainian Bridge, which is a non-governmental organization seeking IT partnerships around the world. «I believe that such steps will help concentrate greater interest in the Ukrainian IT and R&D sectors in order to strengthen the attractiveness of Ukraine as an European IT power», – Dmytro Senik said.
The diplomat also spoke about collaboration with the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection with Ukrainian diplomatic missions abroad in order to promote opening of new markets for Ukrainian food exports, as well as to attract investment to the agricultural sector.
Dmytro Senik mentioned another important initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs aimed at providing online consultations for Ukrainian exporters, including a special format for local business circles within the framework of Exporters and Investors Council (EIC) under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
