GO ISRAEL:  Webinar «Free Trade Zone of Ukraine with Israel» 

On February 23, 2021 Exporters and Investors Council (EIC) under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Embassy of Ukraine in the State of Israel and Export Promotion Office (EPO) with the participation of Ukrainian-Israeli Alliance held a webinar for Ukrainian exporters «Ukraine's Free Trade Area with Israel: prospects for business».

The event gathered more than 200 participants, mostly exporters of food, furniture, clothing, representatives of the engineering sector and others. The participants of the event discussed Free Trade Agreement, doing business in Israel, market entry conditions and methods, certification procedures, non-tariff barriers, cultural peculiarities, etc.

Mr. Dmytro Ponomarenko, Director of Economic Diplomacy Department of the MFA of Ukraine noted in his welcoming speech that according to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, in 2020 the total trade turnover between Ukraine and the State of Israel amounted to almost $975 million and decreased by 16% compared to the last year. Ukrainian exports of goods decreased only by 9.1%.

«I would like to draw attention of Ukrainian entrepreneurs to the fact that the Agreement contains an important principle regarding the application of the provisions of the Pan-euro-Mediterranean Convention for the purposes of determining the origin of goods. In practice, this means that Ukrainian producers will be able to import raw materials from Israel, process them in Ukraine and export at a reduced or zero rate of duty to the EU», - he said.

According to Ambassador of Ukraine to the State of Israel Mr. Yeygen Korniychuk, one of the important tasks of the Embassy is promotion of the interests of Ukrainian SMBs in Israel. «We plan to provide advice on a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation and the Israeli economy, to promote professional tours to specialized sites in Israel, including participation in exhibitions, fairs and other thematic events in order to help find partners», - Ukrainian diplomat said.

Exporters and Investors Council in the MFA of Ukraine (EIC) is a platform, which unites Ukrainian producers, exporters and leading business associations providing necessary support in promoting their goods and services abroad and entering new markets, attracting foreign investors and companies to Ukraine and creating business matchmaking for the businesses.
